WANTED: slight modification to slider skin

First off, I'm a newb and running v11. How can I modify the default slider skin to include all the buttons along the date row as in the image below.  Can someone walk me through the steps?

Since that is my old skin you are showing, have you tried the latest version of my tweaked skin found here?
