A little confused

Hello,

More than a year ago I was a enthousiastic user of Today Plus, a very good program!

Than srs disappearred and TD+ expired. So I stopped using it.

Last week, I found a link on ppcfreewares were I downloaded version 0.11.0.

I tried to reinstall TD+. At first it worked (almost). I saw at least once an updated weatherreport.

Than I found the Hammerskin. The best ever IMHO.
I tried to install it. First it was very big on my screen, but after that it seem to be OK. But I still couldn't let the wheather, radar and RSS update work.

Radar update works, but I didn't saw it on my screen (the jpg's were there but no radar pictures on my screen)

And now I'm confused ....

Why didn't I got the skin working.

Is there still a problem with the expiration date? (and what to do about that?)

Why does the wheather or RSS update do not work?  

How can I get the Radar get to work well?
(I used the installation instryuctions of UK Sknner but I'm confused about the directories where the JPg should stay to found by TD+)

Somebody who can give me a help, a hint?

  Could you please upload a screenshot here?  That will be helpful for trouble  shotting.  Are you using a proxy connection?  What device are you using and what version of Hammerskin you downloaded?

Sounds to me that you should not have this issue since you can see the Hammer skin displayed on your device, right?

There are two "section" you can view the radar/satellie image.  The first one is for the radar image of your cities.  The image should be download into "\TodayPlus\Images\Radar_VGA" (for VGA) or "\iPAQ File Store\TodayPlus\Images\Radar" (for QVGA).  The name of file should be 1.jpg/gif/png, 2.jpg/gif/png.....The number is your city ID.

The second one can be asscessed via the menu pop-up Menu.  The images should go to"\iPAQ File Store\TodayPlus\Images\Radar_VGA1" or "\iPAQ File Store\TodayPlus\Images\Radar_1".  And the name should be 1.jpg/gif/png......

Yes, it´s Ok.

QVGA = 240/320 Pixel, VGA = 480/640 Pixel. Your Device use QVGA.

"\iPAQ File Store\TodayPlus\Images\Radar" (for QVGA).  The name of file should be 1.jpg/gif/png, 2.jpg/gif/png.....The number is your city ID.

Does it have to be in the Ipaq File Store directory? Other post give \Program Files\TodayPlus\Images\Radar(_1) directories.

And where has the radar.exe has to go?

And another question: how to find right pictures for my location(s) (Arnhem, Netherlands)? Any instructions on that part?

Daan,

You are asking for the weather pictures of Arnhem, downloaded by Radar.exe.

I've attached my own radar.txt with five cities in it. You can use the textlines you want, and delete the others.

Note: radar.exe is in the same directory as radar.txt

Hi Daan

you can put the Radar.exe and Radar.txt in each directory you wan´t. After this you must create a shortcut in the Config to the Radar.exe. The Shortcut must be Apps 7-1.

Everything uninstalled and installed.

Installed Hammerskin Eng V1.05.6 and dutch version V1.05.5

Use radar.txt from timmy

Still no Radar.
Pictures are loaded in dir..\TodayPlus\Images\Radar but no pictures in het skin.

No "green" picture to select radar pictures

Still no weather.

I have Icons. I the buffer is city1.txt tot city5.txt in Buffer but I have only one city selected for the wheather. I think the city1.txt to city5.txt are there because of radar.txt from Timmy.

Still no RSS.

Still no updates ....

Any suggestions ...?

Did you see text information?  Would it be possible for you to show a screenshot?  If you have city1.txt that means the downloading is fine.  Then at least you should see the temperature.  If that is the case, make sure you have the weather image folders (Stardock, Accu_new, Timmy, yahoo, weather.com)  in \TodayPlus\Weather Icons.  

By the way, what is your base pathway for TodayPlus?  DId you create a "Hammerskin" folder under TodayPlus folder or you moved the individual folders (Skin, Image, Weather icons..) to the TodayPlus folder.

I can see tempatures, icons, the whole thing.

But ... when I look into city1.txt it says it is the weather of Rotterdam

But in my configuration I have only one (!) city installed and that's not Rotterdam. And I have city 2 till 5. (Dublin, Grenoble...)I didn't configure Rotterdam, or Dublin, or Grenoble. I didnt even configure more than one city ...

I know where all these ciies come from, from the radar.txt from Timmy. (See first couple of lines)

So the update/retrieval of files via radar.exe works. (I can see the messages in the screen of loading files)

The "normal" update of the weather don't work
The update of the rss files don't work
The showing of the radar pictures don't work

I'm not behind a proxy

How can I make screenshots?

 Ok, I see.  The city1.txt was downloaded via Timmy's radar.txt not from TP itself.  I think you still have the problem of weather updating via TP.  Did you see rss1.txt in the buffer?

 Try this freeware for screenshot capture.  I did not use it but it supposedly to be good.

Maybe some other important information: when instlaling TodayPlus the install screen and the cab file don't dissappaer. It sticks with 'Writing unistall information".

And I have installed the skin in the Today directories (Images, Skins etc.) (no separate Hammerskin directory)

And what can cause to see no radar pictures?
