Does a "HowTo" exist for editing the config file?

Great Program! Thank you very much SRS and all the others who have taken the time to help people out. This is an incredible Today Plugin.
 I am wondering if a "HowTo" on editing the config file exists. If not is there an area of the previous forum that might talk about it at length?
