Keen beta-testers wanted

As most of you will know, TodayPlus was born out of a thread on Brighthand, where srs requested help to beta-test a new plug-in.  Somewhere along the line, the beta-test message has become a little muted.  This fine product now has a strong following of "end-users", not willing/able to deal with some of the side effects of beta-testing, or contribute the time/effort required to rigorously test new features and provide detailed defect descriptions.

Therefore, we are looking for volunteers to form a Beta Testers group within the forums who will get slightly earlier access to releases, with the intention of testing both TodayPlus, the default skin and perhaps other skins before the general release.

Of course, there are risks inherent in this, notably that of soft resets of your device or, in the worst case, forced hard resets.  I'm know srs is making every effort to reduce the need for the latter, and would welcome innovative ideas for "fail-safe" features which would prevent them.  Please only volunteer if you are willing to face these risks without (too much) complaint.

We will select our Beta Testers from the volunteers who respond, in order to obtain a group with the following:
  • An understanding of at least the basics of TodayPlus;
  • A good spread of devices and operating systems; and
  • An active involvement in the forums
If you are interested in taking part in this process, please post a reply here, listing at least:
[list=1]
  • Make/model of PocketPC
  • Operating System (PPC2002/WM2003)
  • Storage cards installed/slots available
  • Other plug-ins still in use (for interoperability testing)
  • PIM application used[/list:o]Thanks in advance, and I look forward to working with you on this exciting project.

I'm using this program for about a month or two, but I do not have a PIM.
But I'm  (untill now) the only user with an Ipaq 1915, so maybe that's interesting for testing.

On behalf of srs, Eitel and the moderators, I'd like to thank you all for your replies so far.  It's very encouraging to see people volunteering for the "hardcore" beta-testing, despite my intentionally dramatic introductory post.

It's our intention to keep the thread open until Friday when I will close it and review the responses.  In order to keep the Beta Test group manageable in the first instance, we will be selecting from the volunteers based on the criteria in my original post, although currently I don't see us being inundated.  I'd encourage others to add their names to the list in the interim, even if your PPC setup is already represented.

Thanks again for your enthusiasm.
