I hope this hasn't been asked, I didn't see it anywhere...

I haven't gotten into skin "scripting" yet, but I was wondering if it would be possible to make region switching without the use of the back button? ie. with the Weather region, I can click an icon and the region switches to the detailed info. Click again and it's back to the normal 5 day forecast. But if I click a battery/memory icon (or rss, etc.), it switches to the detailed info, but now I have to click the little back button to go back. Is this just a Today+ thing, or is it something that's configurable in the skin script itself?

You can change that by changing the way the button works. You will need a line that looks like this:
button,0,0,240,54,3,3,,1(this particular line is in the weather section)

Notice that it shows the width as 240 and the height as 54. this covers the whole area of that section. This is a line for the back button of an RSS section:
imagebutton,226,2,back.png,t,6,3,,4

It will only cover the size of the button. Follow the skin reference to help you change the region and other numbers you need to change. Does this help?
