Revised Slider skin with a Launcher Region

I haven't forgotten about revising my skin, I have just had no time.  We are currently in the middle of move (moving out of our current house to temporary housing until our new house is finished next month).  Plus, with the Holiday season in full force, I don't have much free time available.  Once things settle down, I hope to get back into tweaking this skin.

If you are still looking for ideas, updating your skin to 0.11.0 would be great.  I am not a fan of the tabbed launcher that comes with the default skin.

Yep, tabbed launcher will be gone.  I just got the slider skin tweaked for v0.10.2, and was ready to start work on my new region only to have v.0.11.0 released.  

Now that I have moved out of my old house and back to my Mom's while waiting for our new house to be finished next month I should have some free time available.  I hope to get my skin finished before we move again; I have 20 days, 4 Hours, and 23 Minutes to get it done; that I am counting or anything.

I am not 100% finished tweaking but I did get a few things finished.

- Removed the tabbed section from the Launcher region.  Currently, this skin has support for 4 groups of 11 shortcuts.
- Since the "Brightness" feature doesn't work on my e740, I have removed it from the System region.  I have replaced it with my SD and CF card information.  You will need to add my "sd0.png" image to your image folder.  It is modified from the one created by Lightman, I have made it "square."  It is included in the attached zip.
- I am currently still using the "Washington Post" icons; they show up better on against my current background.  I also switched the skin back to the "Tahoma" font; my getting older everyday eyes couldn't read that "Frutiger Linotype" font.

In the works:

- The Launcher region will support more or less groups similar to the RSS and Weather Regions.
- Removing the pop-up icon menu and tweaking the date to look similar to original skin.
- Tweaking the Weather region
- Adding my Calendar, current time & weather region.

BTW, This skin is for v0.11.0 and the above already attached doesn't include these updates yet!

Since I will be without a decent Internet connection until Monday, I figured I should post what I have working so far.  In addition to the updates I mentioned earlier, this update includes the following:

- The Launcher region will support more or less groups similar to the RSS and Weather Regions.
- Tweaking the Weather region
- Support for multiple clocks allowing the user to scroll through them, still displaying only 5 clocks at any one time.

Still in the works, I hope to have it updated over the Holiday brake.

In order to use this update, you will need to add a few things to your PPC's registry.  That is until srs adds support for these variables in a future version of the config app (see this post).   I recommend PHM Registry Editor to make these changes.

1) Start you regedit application and go to the following key:
\HKCU\Software\SRSSoft\TodayPlus\var
2) Under the "var" key, add two new string values.
3) Give the new string values the name of "numlauncher" and "numclocks".
4) Set the values to the number of groups you have for the launcher region and the number of time zones you have entered  (I recommend at least 6 time zones).  See the below screen capture for a basic idea what the settings should look like.

BTW, with all registry changes be careful when making changes.  I will not be responsible if you toast your registry and hard reset your PPC.

I just download your skin and have noticed several issues on my PDA (Dell Axim). I am sure that it is probably something that I am doing so if you don't mind providing some insight/assistance, that would be great. Here are the issues that I am encountering:

1) When I sync using ActiveSync, the weather icons as well as the RSS Feeds disappear. I have to refresh using my wireless connection to get them back

2) The Agenda/Task/General information takes an awful long time to refresh. Some times I will have to actually switch to the calendar and then back and it seems to finally display the data.

3) For some reason, a main scroll bar just started to show up hiding the navigation icons for most of the items (when all items are displayed).

The skin I am using is from Nov 27. I tried to use your most recent update, however, many of the items did not appear to be working as well as the 11/27 skin.

Any insight/suggestions are greatly appreciated and THANKS for taking the time to create the skin.

Not sure what is happening here.  It is probably some type of bug with TodayPlus and not with the skin.  You might want to post this one in the bug report forum.

This is an already posted problem with TodayPlus.

What regions are you displaying when the scroll bar appears (weather, launcher, system, etc.)?  What other Today screen plug-in are you running?

If you are looking for my last version of my skin, for v0.11.0, that I released, see my post a few posts up.

To be honest, with all the talk expiration dates and srs missing, I had stopped tweaking my skin.  Recently, with all the cracks, hacks and batches that are available to keep TodayPlus running, I have started tweaking again.

I am currently running v0.12.0, but I might switch back to v0.11.0.  There isn't allot of difference between the two versions.  The biggest difference might be how the two versions handle Latitude and Longitude.  My latest skin might need to be tweaked to work properly with v0.11.0, but I am not sure.

If anyone is interested in my latest tweaked skin for v0.12.0, I have attached it below.

Here is a list of tweaks:
- Removed "Uptime", "Est" and "Reset" from the System Region.  (I wanted a little space for the Poom region.)
- The Memory card section of the System region will alternate in displaying SD card (Storagecard 1) and CF card (Storagecard 2) information.  I have included a "filter" that will only display a card if it is installed in your PPC.  It will also display "None" if neither of your storage cards is installed (BTW, you need to put my "No Storage" image I included with the skin into your Image/Color-3D folder.)
- Continued Weather region tweaks.

Edit:  BTW, if you haven't done so already you still need to make the changes to your Registry that I have descibed in this post.

Your v .12 skin does work with v .11.  My device only uses an SD Card.  What is the filter for preventing the storage area from cycling through SD -> CF?

Do you mean to say that the CF icon is displaying for you in addition to the SD icon?

It really isn't a filter, it is a series of "If, Then, Else" statements.  It looks like this:
