I have an idea as you can save much work at the construction of the exe.

Every exe has typed one Url in. This URL isn't difficult to change (Hex editor). The only problem is the number of letters. Make simply more Exe with an increasing number of letters . The user only must the letters in the URL count, takes the Exe  with the corresponding number of letters and change her with the editor. You have a lot to do at the moment but after which it then is to do nothing more. What do you think of it?

What I can offer you on the fast one is this link. However, it is a German web site with worldwide radar pictures. Perhaps something is there for you.

         I see, the idea is to create exe file with different number of letters for url.  Then use this as template to modify by Hex editor, right?  I could do that..  Good suggestion.

Yes that´s right

You must seeing, how many letters being needed (Minimal-Maximal) of course you must produce appropriately many exe . Then You give the exe e.g. the name: 23 letter.exe.  The user counts the letters of the URL, sees these are 23, uses the Template with 23 letters and changes the Url.

Wichtel:

      This is a cool site.  Anyone wants me to create the exe from these sites, just post here.  However, not everyone will work.  Go to the site and right click on the image, select property then you should see the url address.  If you see the number looks like the date, or time in the url address, then the file's name will be assoicated with the time it is created.  At this moment, the exe I generated can not handle this situation.  :roll:

Hi Wichtel -

Great work as usual. I also found the error mentioned here and have corrected it in a file uploaded to the upload area (different solution). The skin file also contains a few other minor corrections, mostly in translation. My changes are higlighted and commmented with the symbols "//-"

           Here it is.  I put the different number of "x" between "http://" and ".jpg".  In other words, it is "http://Xxxxx......xxxx.jpg" and the number of x was from 50-100.  The file will be downloaded and saved as 1.jpg in /Programme/TodayPlus/Images/Radar.  If the file is gif, then you have to change it too.  Let me know if you need the number of x < 50 or >100.

@Jhollin1138,
@Wichtel,
@Uk_skinner,

Suggestion: maybe, it's a good idea to open some new threads:
•  one thread for the Radar 'program' of Uk_skinner. It's a universal program, not only related to Hamerskin. I want to introduce his program in my own skin, but I don't feel free to ask more about it in this special Hamerskin thread.
•  another threads with new to devellop other ideas. I have some wishes I couldn't work out for myself, but with the help of other skinners there will be a solution, I hope.

Let me know what you think about it, please!

Excellent work  :approve: I hope that it hasn't made too much trouble.

I already have the radar thing in the head all finished, however, haven't managed to install this into the Skin yet.

I hopefully make it until weekend, then I can at least publish a screenshot

The most simple solutions are mostly the best...  :approve:

I don't have a problem with anyone starting a new thread in the New Skins / Graphics section to discuss the Radar EXE.  Also, a new thread could also be started in the HammerSkin section as well.  At this time, I don't find it necessary to designate a new forum section to it.

Wichtel:

          I just found this out, perhaps this is well known already.
          If you make a shorcut to the radar image and call it from TP.  Your default image viewer will open it out.  For my IPAQ, it is ipaq image zone and you can zoom and move the image.  I think most of people can take this advantage and don't need a region just see the radar image.  Also for those "big" radar image, right now you can see without any problem.
