Obviously with the latest posts by Lightman that even he feels that the work should be distributed... the only downside was that he was not informed prior to the use of his artwork.

I personally do not see why Wichtel should feel compelled to pull this release from distribution...

I wanted to apologize to Wichtel in this forum since I can't speak German.  I was critical of his skin in the PDACorps thread since I had only seen the images posted on the German site.  I too have borrowed ideas and images for my skins from others.  I took some heat myself (rightly so) for borrowing images from Juni for use in my OSX Complete skin, without asking for Juni's permission.  I was unaware that Wichtel did not have access to any of LightMan's code and was only borrowing the images and some ideas from his HandyPlus Pro skin.  I hope we do see Wichtel's skin re-released.

The unfortunate thing is for those that didn't get the Wichtel skin... they will now not have access to Lightman's skin either... so the community loses all the way around.

This whole incident was very unfortunate, but people tend to be very sensitive when TodayPlus is involved. Hopefully a new set of icons will be available soon and Wichtel will release the skin again. We have all reacted to these things in many different ways, but hopefully we learn from these things.

Since LightMan isn't releasing his skin, can someone post the translated version which used his graphics? I'm really fond of his work, and even if it isn't fully his, I'd prefer it over the other version.

I believe that Wichtel requested that version not be distributed anymore due to the "controversy".  My guess is that if anyone posted it here, it would probably just be deleted by the moderators to comply with Wichtel's request.

Wichtel, never said he doesn't want the HammerSkin every distributed again.  He just asked that v1.03, the one with LightMan's images not be distributed, pending his release of v1.04.  Wichtel made v1.04 available late last week.  Someone just needs to translate it back into English and it can be reposted.

As Ripper asked earlier, any volunteers?

Supposedly, although I haven't personally checked it out, Wichtel was going to include all his own images in v1.04 (see this post).  Therefore, LightMan's release isn't even required.

Besides, LightMan appears to have given Wichtel permission to use the images, see this post.

Since it is okay'd by LightMan, any chance someone can post just the image directory from 1.03? As much as I accept Wichtel's decision to use his own images, since HandyPro is canceled, I'd still like to use LM's images.

To be honest there is not much to choose between the old and new images... there are only two that are different from my quick overview of them...

Hi All -

I have a version  of Hammerskin 1.04 translated into English for my own use - I have made no changes to the graphics, only to the skin file itself. I have also not translated any file names etc. - that would just be too much work esp. if 1.05 comes out etc. There are a few minor cosmetic modifications as well (again, to suit my own use). Should I post it here?  

Wichtel - great skin! and some really neat work in the skin file.
Lightman - Wonderful concept - I waited with bated breath for HandyPlus 2.0 but once you cancelled I just had to go with Hammerskin.
