Please help: weather refuses to work!!

Hi, I have an XDAII with win mobile 2003 on it - so i believe I do not need to load the framework thingy..

when trying to setup weather city i get the error
'Exception:System.Net.WebException:Could not find source assembly'

i have tried with my unit connected to the internet via activesync and dialup - no change.

I have manually edited a city into the registry - (entry type string)
1                      60,08824, test

now the today plus config program will not work i get error
'a manged index out of range exception occurred at weatheritem:: .......'

any ideas on what the cause is?  thanks

The 1 should be the key name all the way to the left. The rest,  60,08824,test,f should be on the extreme right in the registry. make sure the registry entry is correct.

it is in correct as far as i cal tell ,it looks like this

I understand that but is the 1 to the extreme left and the rest far to the right. Just want to make sure you entered it correctly in the cities area.

AHA- i understand whats happened here...

when I posted my original and my previous reply, i used lots of spaces to show the layout of the entry.  but the forum has removed the extra spaces, so all the info is together on the left!  (thought i was going potty there for a minute!!)

in short yes, the registry entry is correct. (to the best of my knowledge) - it certainly looks the same as your picture anyway.

Next step would be to remove TP and then reinstall.  Your test entry will remain so will any other setup you did. If you can't load config remove entry in weather. And try again.

Don't know if this is causing your problem, but I noticed that your temperature unit designator is missing.  Your registry entry should be something like:

Name........Data
1...............60,08824,test,f
Or
1...............60,08824,test,c

Good point FishBoy, that could be it in a nutshell. And the picture I sent doesn't show the f .

ok, good point, i added the temperature selector bit.  Now the config program no -longer crashes and it all looks ok.

But, still no weather, I now get the name 'test' on the weather page, but my weather icons stay white with a line through - the unit is currently connected to the internet via activesync.

Also; if I try editing the weather entry using the config program, my entry disappears....

Did you try a sync? If you have wait a few minutes after the sync, use file explorer and gto to Program Files TodayPlus and then look in the Buffer file and see if there is any information in there. Let us know.

what is the buffer gile called, the only files in the today plus directory that are text files are...
config.txt
forecastext.txt


i suspect neither of these are the buffer file.

There should be a folder called buffer, every installation of TP has one. If there is not a folder called buffer. Create one and spell like this Buffer.

You should also have the following directories and files:
1.Buffer
2. Icons
3. Images
4. Skins
5. Weather Icons
6. config
7. elephant.png
8. forcasttext
9. TodayPlus dll
10. TodayPluss.exe

aha - the buffer folder is there (it was off the top of the screen and as i was looking for a file did not think to scroll up...

the folder is completely empty, i have the rest of the folders and folders in the main directory.

The only way to get information in there is through ActiveSyncing. I am at a loss. You say you are running 2003 so you don't need frame work. Are you syncing ok?

activesync works fine,  I presume i don't need any activesync addins or anything like avant go do I?

matbe it is an XDAII thing.....
