Broesel:

It is certainly possible.  The question is when do you want to make this switch.  MSNBC switchs for us.  Since we are creating the city.txt now, we have to decide at which time point to make switch.  In de.weather.com, I believe is 4:00PM.

Broesel,

I think I understand your concern, now. Let me try to explain what I see as the problem:

MSNBC at some point during the day (probably late in the afternoon) stops showing Day1 as today and replaces it with tomorrow.

Yahoo shows Day1 as today until Midnight when the date changes.

What I will do is let MSNBC drive the Day1 change. When you sync and MSNBC has started to use Tomorrow as Day1, I will force Yahoo to use Tomorrow as Day1.

I believe MSNBC should drive the Day1 change.

What do you think?

Well, for me both solutions will be o.k., if you change the day, when
msnbc is switching, we'll have the same as we have now and when
we switch to the next day at 4:00 pm we can have the next day earlier,
what means, we hav a 5-day-forecast even from the late afternoon :D

Both will be fine :)

Timmy, I think it would be better to find, when you provide the icon-numbers
from the shown icons, so it's easier to find (can also be caused by the
weathericons, not all iconsets are in the right order).
Take ther weather.com-icons as reference. And the problem with the
nicht/dayicons is because yahoo is showing the night icon from the
late afternoon for the actual day.

Broesel,

•  The coming days I'll follow your tip to write down the icon numbers.

•  What I think? Yahoo is using another iconpic order... (BTW: I'm using the original Todayplus icon order= the weather.com icon order.)

Thinking over the question "when should the weatherforecast change from
the actual day to the next day" I got the idea, if we can have the possibility
to choose in the php-script, what day we want to start with the forecast ?

F.ex. it's monday and I want to start my forecast with tuesday or wednesday
(a parameter like startweekday=2 or something like this)
As weather.com provides a tenday forecast maybe you can pull the
informations for the forecast ?

Broesel:

 Yes, it is possible.
I am thinking to restart a new thread because we need to seperate the weather.com script from yahoo.  Otherwise, I will be more confused.   This was my fault too.

Uk_skinner,

I agree with that suggestion: please, begin a clean, new thread!

Yes, that would be better and as I mentioned before, the post with
the php-script for rss-feed (third post in this thread from zapme1)
should be in another thread too.

I have create a new thread for ZapMe1's post regrading the PHP script to download the detail forecast text as RSS-feed from Yahoo.  Please see:

I wanted to see my weather in Metric. When I clicked the Metric Unit button in Config I got the conversion (°F to °C) but the numbers did not match this ( http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/GMXX0039_c.html?force_units=1 ). Therefore I added a parameter ( http://todayplus.jhollin1138.com/rss/forecast_yahoo_txt.php?Citycode=GMXX0039&Language=GM&Units=C ). My city1.txt is now in Metric. I have to fool TP by choosing English Units from Config so TP will not do a conversion. The number match OK.

While I'm here I have a question. I would like to expand the this.swBaro to contain text (1026 mb and falling). This text would allow me see an approaching low (and falling). This additional text may mess up some existing skins.

Comments?

Ed:

I believe TP also will convert swBaro when you select " Metric." in configure.  If you put the non-number in it, I don't know what will happened.
